Monday...

The weather was PERFECT for an outdoor blanket fort!!

And what do you do inside a blanket fort on a nice summer day??

You play games with your brother!!

They played Minecraft & Uno Attack!!

I guess Cooper wanted to join the boys in the fort...

But our ole boy isn't the best smelling doggie...

So the boys had to bail!!

Maybe next time, Coop!!!

Tuesday...

Sitting at my computer desk, which is located in our front room...

Frost was standing at the doorway...

Looking out the front window...

He then says...

"There is either a DOG or an OWL in our ditch."

It was definitely an owl.

And it was hurt...couldn't fly at all.

It was obvious that one of it's wings was badly damaged.

I contacted our county's park district to see if they could direct me to who to contact.

Which they did.

We had a rescuer come out.

Liam & I helped where we could to get this guy out of our tree

that this determined guy somehow got up in.

Unfortunately, his wing was VERY broken.

The rescuer said that more than likely he will need to be euthanized.

That his wing has probably been hurt like that for quite some time,

and that he possibly hasn't been able to hunt.

So he could be starving.

For an owl to starve to death is a very grim fate.

She said someone would call us to let us know what happens.

Will have to give her a call again if I don't hear anything soon!!

Summer equals PARK DAYS!!!

I wish I would have taken more photos...

but Liam was WAY busy playing with a couple of friends!!

He was ALL OVER the park!!

I would have NEVER been able to keep up!!

They swung on the swings...

Hiked on the trails...

Swung on more swings...

Went down to the creek...

Played with Liam's "weapons" {TOY weapons}...

...and who knows what all else!!

The weather was IDEAL for a park day!!

You could just ask this magnificent butterfly that came by to say HELLO!

Wednesday...

Another Park Day!!

But this one was hosted by our local libraries for their

Kick-Off to Summer Reading Program!!

After circling the park 3 or 4 times...

Then deciding to go on and go pick up our dinner from Aldi around the corner...

Returning to the park...

We finally found ourselves a parking spot!!

We ran into a couple of friends...

Got our wrist bands so we could enjoy the treats they were offering...

Then we got to talk to one of the police officers who rides a

Harley Davidson as his Sheriff's transportation!!

This officer was really great! Made sure the boys shook his hand, and thanked him for his service!!

The officers have to go thru an intense training

learning to ride the bikes in all sorts of situations.

{Like UP & DOWN stairs!!}

Then there is 8 hours a month of ongoing training!

He said the hardest part is riding the bike S*L*O*W!!

This particular bike weighs around 900lbs!!

I can not even imagine being able to hold it up & steady!!

The bike was donated to the force back in 2007 from a local Harley Davidson Shop!! How awesome is THAT!?!?!?

The boys also got to get into the back of the S.W.A.T truck!!

Liam said the battering ram is A LOT heavier than they look in the movies!!

This is Eevee's new "doggie stroller" that Frost got me!!

I love it SO much!!

This was our first outing using it!

And Eevee did GREAT!!

I think she actually enjoyed being pushed around...

able to see all that was going on...

but also inside her own little bubble at the same time!!

Yup...I'm one of THOSE dog moms!!!

Thursday...

National Chocolate Ice Cream Day!!!!!!!!

Here we are celebrating with some Triple Chocolate Ice Cream!!

Zach looks VERY serious about his ice cream!!

From the Patio...

What I'm Reading...

From the Back Cover:

"One Christmas Eve in a small hollow in Boone County, West Virginia, struggling songwriter Jesse Walker witnesses a strange spectacle: seven devilish figures chasing a man in a red suit toward a sleigh and eight reindeer. When the reindeer leap skyward, taking the sleigh, devil men, and Santa into the clouds, screams follow. Moments later, a large sack plummets back to earth, a magical sack that thrusts the down-on-his-luck singer into the clutches of the terrifying Yule Lord, Krampus. But the lines between good and evil become blurred as Jesse's new master reveals many dark secrets about the cherry-cheeked Santa Claus, including how half a millennium ago the jolly old saint imprisoned Krampus and usurped his magic.

Now Santa's time is running short, for the Yule Lord is determined to have his retribution and reclaim Yuletide. If Jesse can survive this ancient feud, he might have the chance to redeem himself in his family's eyes, to save his own broken dreams . . . and to help bring the magic of Yule to the impoverished fold of Boone County."

Just FYI: There are curse words & there are "adult" references.

So far I'm REALLY hooked on this book!!

I try and read it whenever I can...which isn't often enough!!

Travel Life

This week I donated 2 big black garbage bags,

and 2 smaller kitchen garbage bags full of clothes,

and a few odds & ends, to Goodwill!

Also, passed along quite a bit of stuff to my bestie!

It's a good thing she loves me!!

And gave some canning stuff,

that I have come to the realization that I will NEVER use,

to my Mother-in-Law.

Put some things on my homeschool group's

yard sale site to try to sell.

Going to give it a week, then whatever doesn't sell...

Goes straight to Goodwill!!

All in attempts to downsize!!

There is SO MUCH MORE to still go thru...

and get rid of!!

Deep sigh.

But, we will get there!!

It is all part of the BIGGER PICTURE!!

That is all I have for our first Weekly Wrap-Up!!

Be sure to come by next Friday to see what we've been up to!!

I really enjoyed this post! I’m curious though, did you ever hear back from the rescuer? Did the owl in fact need to be euthanized, or were they able to help it recover?
