Never be afraid to try something new, because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already know.

Hey there Noonies!! How have you been?? I hope this letter find you well!
Around here, we are SO looking forward to Spring!! We've had some teaser days...just enough for a small taste before Mother Nature turns around and throws some leftover winter weather at us!! Deep sigh! I see a bunch of yellow flowers out my window, hear the birds singing, & the peepers chirping...I'm hoping beyond hope we have seen the last of the snow!! { Please don't tell me if there is more coming...I just can't take it!! }
I wanted to share with you some of the positive changes that I have been trying so hard to make around here! I decided back in December, 2017, that 2018 is going to be THE year that I focus on getting myself HEALTHY!! It is SO long overdue, I know. But, if you are anything like me, it can be quite the struggle!
Motivation & willpower was what I was lacking to "git'er done"...so, I decided to start a group on fb...a shoot off from my homeschool group. So I could help motivate others, and in turn they would help motivate me! And it has been great!
I didn't get started in January, like I had hoped, but that's OK. No worries there! But, on February 12th, THAT is the day I started to heal my body! I decided to go Gluten-Free for a month to see if there would be any changes. My own little experiment. I gave up wheat, grain, rice, bread, donuts & pizza!!
You know what though?? It really wasn't that hard. I had done some reading & research before hand which I think made it easier for me to understand some of the WHY's behind taking wheat & gluten out of your diet.
First thing I noticed was that my bumps on my upper arms {keratosis pilaris} had smoothed out considerably! It is not TOTALLY gone, but it is so much better than it has been my entire life! Now, I've looked this up before online, and even my doctor had told me, they say there is NO CURE for this. You can use lotions & creams to "kinda help" it, but that's about it. But, I have found that since taking wheat out of my diet, IT MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE.
Second thing, I am no longer having migraines!! I am at the beginning of week 4 without a headache!! This REALLY excites me because I am SO anxious to get off of the medicines I take!! Which made this definitely small step in the direction I want to go!!
As you can see from my picture above, my face has definitely slimmed out. It is just not so puffy anymore! A wonderful benefit!! Wheat can cause you to be swollen & inflamed. So once I took it out of the equation, change was enviable.
I highly recommend doing your own research on wheat, and on going gluten free. I came across the book, "Wheat Belly". It was an easy read with LOTS of information! I also watched lots of YouTube videos & read quite a few articles! Just trying to get a hold of as much information as I could! It makes a HUGE difference when you are informed!!
Oh, and by the way...I have decided to remain on the Gluten Free path! At the VERY LEAST, it is NOT worth it to me to start getting my migraines again!
Welp, that's all I have for today! I have MORE to share with you, but I will save those for upcoming letters!!
Have a great day!!
Sending love & light to YOU!!

norrislkay, it is that "feeling much better after cutting it out completely" that keeps me on track!! Thank you so much for your support!! I'm hoping to learn some new recipes from you!!
Shari ~ I'm definitely still learning as I go, but would love to share all I come across!! Thank you for stopping by!!
I’m glad to hear you are noticing so many positive changes after going gluten free! I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy last year, but I have a son that is anaphylactic to both wheat and barley, so I didn’t eat much wheat prior to my diagnosis anyways.
Going gluten free was hard at first, but honestly I don’t miss wheat much. I feel so much better since cutting it out completely and we have learned to make GF versions of pretty much all of our favorite foods. :-)
I'm definitely interested in learning more about living gluten free. With you leading and directing a path, I hope to learn it is way more of an option than it can sometimes feel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
